Monza, 28th April 2021 – According to ISTAT (Italian National Statistical Institute) pre pandemic data, in Italy an average of 700,000 people die each year, of which 40% (about 280,000) are elderly. If we project this data on the 350,000 guests of the Italian nursing homes (whose average age is over 65), it can be seen that, net of Covid, 140,000 will die. In Italian nursing homes there is therefore an average of about 6 people who die every hour, from natural and pathological causes, in isolation and away from the affection of their loved ones.
